You don't necessarily need to go to rehab to stop using alcohol or drugs. You may not even need to stop completely. Through harm reduction therapy or counseling, I can help you gain clarity about the kind of relationship you want with drugs and alcohol... and help you gain the skills to manage drugs and alcohol in a way that feels sustainable and in line with your values. Your mental health is worth finding a therapist who understands you and your needs.

Do you avoid going to the doctor because you're afraid what you'll hear, or assume you'll feel annoyed because you'll get told all the ways you need to change? Physical and mental health are intimately related and reciprocal. Finding therapists who understand these challenges can help. Let's figure out YOUR goals for your health, make a map to get there, and triumphantly slay the foes that stand in your way.
As doctors, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, you're used to putting others' needs before your own. You work hard to make sure people are cared for with skill and compassion. And there are always gaps between what patients need and the resources to meet those needs. Patients and their families get stressed and sometimes take it out on you. And invariably our patients sometimes die; some expected from old age or disease, and some unexpected from suicide, overdose, accident, or illness. Then there are questions of identity: Who am I outside of my work? How do I find balance in a field that expects so much? What are my values and how do I enact them when I'm always pressed for time?
Collaborative and reflective supervision helps you develop skills and practices for becoming an ethical LCSW. I provide low-fee supervision to those pursuing hours toward their independent clinical social work license. Supervision is on a sliding scale, anywhere between $30 and $50 per hour. This is part of how I give back to my profession. Providing therapy or counseling can be hard on one's own mental health. Clinical supervision not only helps you improve your skills as a therapist. We also develop plans to care for yourself to make this work sustainable for the long term.
